Both glucose conditions reached comparable, high density regardless of strain; both cellobiose conditions ended up substantially lower, with CxnA (3a/3b) even lower than beta-glucosidase (4a/4b).
Serial dilutions (10⁻³, 10⁻⁴, 10⁻⁵) of each culture were plated on LB + 40 µg/mL chloramphenicol for CFU counting the following incubation period.
