Poured selection plates for conditions (b), (c), and (d) using autoclaved M9 + agar base:
Condition (b) — M9 + 1% cellobiose + 0.4% glucose + chloramphenicol: 64.1 ml 5% cellobiose stock + 6.41 ml 20% glucose stock + 320 µl chloramphenicol stock per 250 ml M9+agar. 9× plates made, stored in fridge overnight.
Condition (c) — M9 + 1% cellobiose + chloramphenicol: 62.5 ml 5% cellobiose stock + 320 µl chloramphenicol stock per 250 ml M9+agar. 9× plates made, stored in fridge overnight.
Condition (d) — M9 + 0.4% glucose + chloramphenicol: 5.1 ml 20% glucose stock + 320 µl chloramphenicol stock per 250 ml M9+agar. 9× plates made, stored in fridge overnight.
Note: glucose plates marked blue, cellobiose plates marked black, combined marked with both colours. Kanamycin was not added to any condition.
